1 less tourist attraction in Astoria

The Goonies is a beloved cult flick with many devotees, but there’s at least one person who has to be sick of it. Mere months after the movie’s 30th anniversary, the owner of the house in Astoria, Oregon, where the film was shot has taken measures to close it off to zealous fans. As The Oregonian reports, the house, which was open to visitors for the last 14 years, is now cloaked in tarps. In recent years, the house regularly saw over 1,000 people per day. “Most are kind, fun, and welcome,” a sign out front says, “but many are not.” This is why we can’t have nice things.
