Army to Madigan: Back-diagnose PTSD

In the wake of the uproar over repeated denials of PTSD claims by Madigan Army Medical Center, the U.S. Army has started to go back and correct the records of some service personnel, according to The News Tribune. Madigan was ordered to change its practices after TNT reports and complaints by Sen. Patty Murray about its procedures, which led to hundreds of refusals to diagnose service members with PTSD. Jeanie Chang, who left the Army in 2011 as a sergeant, tells the paper that she will now be able to receive six months of treatment for her post-traumatic stress disorder. — J.C.
