Capital Campaign

The Campaign

The $12.5 million Capital Campaign for Cascade Public Media will secure a permanent new home for KCTS 9 and Crosscut, ensuring that current and future residents of the Pacific Northwest have reliable, community-driven media for decades to come.

Cascade Public Media's current building

After 40 years, we're being forced to move.

In 1984, we entered into a 40-year land lease with the City of Seattle and constructed a building at the northeast corner of the Seattle Center. The City will not be renewing this lease and we must move by the end of 2023.

Good news: We found our new home!

Cascade Public Media will move to a pre-existing 44,317 square foot building in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood. The space is well suited for the needs of KCTS 9 and Crosscut and is ideally located within communities we serve and among those with whom we hope to build a deeper connection.

Thanks to the generous support of our community, we exceeded our capital campaign goal and raised $13.4M! On March 14, 2024 we had our Ribbon Cutting ceremony at 316 Broadway and Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell declared March 14th Cascade PBS Day. Thank you very much for helping to make our new home a reality.

We are humbled by the generosity of our community and their investment in our mission. Thank you so much for lighting the way for our future.

January 2024: It's official! We have raised the full $12.5M for our community-facing capital campaign. Thanks to over 4,000 individual donors, 7 foundations, and 1 government grant, we were able to finish our campaign by the end of 2023 and move into our new home. We look forward to sharing more updates and photos of the new space soon!
