Last weekend, Seattle hosted the Boao Forum For Asia at which more than 400 government leaders, technology experts, media managers and other heavyweight types gathered to talk climate change. You would think that when luminaries like Bill Gates, former U.S. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson and Intellectual Ventures boss Nathan Myhrvold get together the intellectual sparks would fly. But based on a report in GeekWire, which was there listening, not much substantive emerged. Here's a, hmm, highlight:“It’s very challenging to get our forms of governance to be consistent with what the problem is,” said Nathan Myhrvold. “Most governments are focused on things that are not global but local. Any not focused on the long term…[but] the short term.” For more, go to Geekwire. For a more engaging and interactive climate change event, go here.
