El Chapo's tunnel to freedom: no Shawshank Redemption

Joaquin Guzman, better known as "El Chupo," is Mexico's biggest drug lord. He's been known to commission tunnels for himself in the past, a fact that you'd think a maximum-security prison director would keep in mind. But it astounded everyone when Guzman vanished from his cell Saturday.

He clearly had some help building the mile-long tunnel by which he escaped. Authorities found all sorts of amenities: lights, ventilation, even a motorcycle on rails. A surveillance video of Guzman's escape posted on the Seattle Times website shows the inmate preparing for his exit and then disappearing behind the privacy wall in his shower.
