            <p>A year after the death of legendary Nisqually Tribe leader Billy Frank, <a href="http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/swinomish-leader-brian-cladoosby-fights-for-salmon-and-sovereignty/?ref=avalancheghost.one">Swinomish leader Brian Cladoosby</a> is becoming the region’s best known Native American voice, both here and nationally. <em>The Seattle Times</em> has a nice profile of the 56-year-old Cladoosby, who is now in his second year as president of the National Congress of American Indians. Like Frank, he fights for salmon and sovereignty, and he has also made the most of the Swinomish casino to generate millions of dollars a year for tribal developments and member benefits.</p>
