We all know that the Alaskan Way Viaduct is going to fall over in “the really big one,” but that hardly stopped A Waterfront for All from cooking up a “safe, scenic, and practical” new use for the roadway. On Monday, the Seattle City Council made clear their dislike for Initiative 123, which aims to turn part of the viaduct into an elevated park; they rejected the initiative, which was to be expected, and voted to put it on the August 2016 ballot, according to a Slog article. (The August ballot is expected to have a lower voter turnout than the November ballot.)
