Unlike in the comic books, superheroes can die. Such was the case of Lenny B. Robinson, who was killed late Sunday night in a traffic accident. Dressed up as the Caped Crusader, Robinson visited sick children in hospitals all over Maryland and Washington, D.C. Robinson spent tens of thousands of dollars each year buying toys for these children. He ran a very successful cleaning business until 2007, when he sold the company and took on a new role as the Dark Knight. “These are the real superheroes,” Robinson said of the children he visited. “They’re fighting for their lives every single day.”
After his work accidentally came to light (when an officer pulled him over wearing his suit and driving a black Lamborghini, media found it quite interesting), he did a Q&A with the Washington Post. One quote to remember, "At the end of the day, I say to myself, 'Did I make a difference?' I hope the answer is yes."
