According to <a href="http://www.seattletimes.com/news/in-council-race-banks-knocks-sawants-trip-to-new-york-city/?ref=avalancheghost.one"><em>The Seattle Times</em></a>, Sawant traveled to New York last weekend to take part in a political conference at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and speak at a campaign fundraiser. “Actions speak louder than words — even for someone who speaks as noisily as Sawant,” said Banks said in a press release. “She can talk a good game about equity, but you can’t make an impact for the people of Seattle when you’re raising money in Manhattan.” Ouch.</p>
