Protests ramp up over Shell's drilling rigs

Climate activists have started their anti-Shell protests, building a large metal tripod structure at the gate of a company fuel transfer facility in Seattle, MyNorthwest reports.

This week, two Shell drilling ships that will be used for oil exploration in the Arctic are expected to arrive in Puget Sound from Port Angeles. Shell's Noble Discoverer and the Polar Pioneer will be greeted by flotillas of activists in kayaks. The demonstration this weekend in Seattle is expected to be one of the most-watched since since the WTO protests in  1999,
