            <p>My Northwest reported today that the <a href="http://mynorthwest.com/11/2760976/Seattle-shootings-on-the-rise-despite-dramatic-increase-in-confiscated-guns?ref=avalancheghost.one">number of reported gun shots</a> fired in Seattle is the highest it has &lt;&lt;its&gt;&gt; been in three years.</p><p>Between January 1 and May 11, Seattle police responded to 146 reports of shots being fired. That's compared to 115 in 2014 and 100 in 2014.</p><p>In addition to the number of shots, the number of guns recovered by police also went up this year.</p><p>Between January 1 and March 31,  252 guns were recovered. In 2014 only 143 guns were recovered within the same time frame.</p><p>Detective Drew Fowler spoke on the trend saying that the statistics released by the police department may provide trends, but can't provide acute answers.</p>
