            <p>The Stranger's Dan Savage had a bit of fun with the Cheney family's dispute over gay marriage, and with Liz Cheney's waffling on the issue as she runs for the U.S. Senate. <a href="http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/11/22/dan-savage-tells-bill-maher-the-cheneys-need-a-dick-to-settle-a-feud-between-a-lesbian-and-her-straight-sister/?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">Raw Story reports</a> that Savage told "Real Time" host Bill Maher, "It’s funny that you need a Dick to adjudicate a dispute between a lesbian and straight sister." More to the point, he savages lesbian Mary Cheney for criticizing sister Liz over her gay-marriage-is-a-state-issue stance while contributing $2,500 to Mitt Romney,  who favored a constitutional ban on gay marriage while campaigning for president last year.
