In light of the recent Freddie Gray incident, Seattleites marched downtown for four hours Wednesday night "in solidarity" with the Baltimore protesters, reports KING 5. Lisa Howell from Olympia brought her 7-year-old son to the peaceful rally. "I feel like as a parent we need to set an example, that you don't watch this stuff on TV from your couch,” said Howell.

Seattle Police officers were patient with the protesters, escorting them along downtown streets. The only hostility of the night came from rush-hour commuters driving near Westlake. "There are ways to orchestrate in a peaceful manner, and all this is doing is creating hostility," said Lisa Attard near her blocked car.

Wednesday's protest was something of a warmup for this Friday, May 1st, when thousands are expected to take to the streets for May Day.
