Margot marries Bocker. As the new managing director of United Metal Works, he wants to have ammunition manufactured.

The old feelings between Ulla and Tommy flare up again in East Berlin. But there is too much division between them.

Eduard Wolf is on trial for war crimes. Ulla wants to prove his innocence. Until further notice, Gundel will run the family business.

Summer 1948: The D-Mark is introduced, delighting sisters Ulla, Gundel and Margot. A new phase of post-war life begins for the three sisters.

Ulla is accepted to medical school in Tubingen. Gundel’s father refuses to let her run the family company and Gundel seeks revenge on Ulla.

After almost a week in which no one has heard from Bocker, he suddenly appears again. He makes accusations that Margot betrayed him.

Unable to forgive Bocker, Bijan and Gabriela swear revenge. Meanwhile, the Wolf sisters receive a letter from their mother.

A fire breaks out in the workers’ barracks. As Winne gets closer to Gabriela, cracks begin to appear in his and Bijan’s friendship.

Winne tries to convince Gabriela that Bocker isn’t the saint she thinks he is. Bijan comes back to Altena. Gundel makes a spontaneous decision.

Things are not looking good for Wolf-Werke and the bank wants a merger with the competition. Margot looks for ways to cope with her grief.

Whilst trying to get money to go to Argentina, Winne is shot. Gabriela races to the Wolf house to get help from Margot. Will Bocker get away with it?

For Christel, generations come and go, the company remains. Winne will be the successor. But he is acting out against anything that smells of old Naziism.
