Seattlepi.com reports that Aiesha Steward-Baker led a lawsuit claiming that the Seattle Police and King County Metro Transit security officers should have protected from a beating in the downtown transit tunnel.  In 2010, Steward-Baker, then 15, was beaten and stomped in a downtown Seattle transit tunnel. Security footage shows at least three guards hired by Metro standing idly by during her attack.

In 2010, the King County Sheriff's Office issued a statement defending the private security guards, saying they followed their training, were outnumbered and called 911.

Because she was a minor at the Steward-Baker had extra time to file the suit. She says she also asked Seattle police officers outside the tunnel to protect her before the incident. There have been no formal responses to the lawsuit as of yet. No specific money demand has been made.
