At long last, plans for the return of Twin Peaks appear to be going somewhere. Everyone from The Seattle Times to Gamespot to The Verge reports that the ‘90s cult hit will begin production next month, with much of the shooting occurring in Washington. Director and co-creator David Lynch—who very publicly left the project for a time back in April—will be filming the return season as if it were an extended movie, which will subsequently be edited into a number of episodes for release in either 2016 or 2017. Perhaps it’ll be a bit later than the 25 years that Peaks Laura Palmer originally promised, but we’ll be brewing a damn fine cup of coffee in anticipation for Dale Cooper’s return.
