            <p>An activist group No New Animal Lab is gathering on the University of Washington’s Red Square this afternoon to protest a new research lab. Organizers expect hundreds of protesters to show up to protest the U's lab project, expected to reach completion in April 2017.</p><p>The goals of the activist group are to convince Swedish contractor Skanska to pull out of the project and to have a national impact that convinces others to question animal labs, according to <a href="http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/education/animal-rights-activists-plan-march-to-protest-construction-of-uw-lab/?ref=avalancheghost.one">the Seattle Times.</a> A previous march on the campus in April drew about 500 people, which an organizer says may have been the biggest U.S. animal rights demonstration in the last 10 years.</p>
