But almost immediately, reports <em>The Spokesman-Review</em>, a local NAACP leader said Dolezal did not have the right to cancel the meeting and that the executive committee would meet. Dolezal’s parents told <em>The New York Times</em> that she has been <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/13/us/rachel-dolezal-naacp-president-accused-of-lying-about-her-race.html?hp=&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=second-column-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news&ref=avalancheghost.one">lying for years about her race</a>.</p>
